How to move past the difficult parts of a project.

There are ups and downs during the process of making any project. A simple little mistake can create a delay which may through the whole project into question. Whether you are building a kayak from plans or editing a video, some glitches are inevitable. If you can not find a way past the hold up, even a small problem may metastasize into a situation where you lose the bubble and the project is neglected to the point of sitting idle for years.

To protect against this it helps to set realistic expectations for how the project will turn out and what your actual goals are. If you just want to build a nice kayak, you don’t need to make it the best kayak you have ever seen, if you have never built a kayak before, just finishing it will put you way ahead of most other folks.

When you do encounter a problem that requires you step back, don’t step too far back, get back to the project as soon as you can after you have your emotions under control.
